Haiku for Wife

Darkness settles in
As she heads for the car to
Hunt and gather Cokes.

I just wondered why you don't let her get the Cokes before dark. Or are they nocturnal?

Romance is not dead. It is, however, in a persistent vegetative state. For instance, it is clear that Romance does not involve higher cognitive function. It is possible it is only involuntary, like breathing. And when in the throes, who could be accused of being fully aware? It is not hard however, to starve it to death. It happens often.

I was rummaging through my comments drawer the other day when I realized that I'd run out of them. Even scratching around in the dark depths I managed to find not one, although I did come across a penny minted in 1953. Now that I have attained the state of comment bankruptcy, I am forced into the position where I must steal from others, borrow a phrase or two and claim that the second of the repeat comments that Blogger loves to insert is actually from me.

This comment, by the way, was handed to me by a passing stranger who took pity on my plight. It is good to see that there is still such generosity in the world.

What's with all this romance crap? I was just out of Cokes.

Nocturnal Cokes. Hmm. I like that title for some reason.

Any idea what Gone is doing, rummaging through comment drawers, when he is King? Has His Highness taken to walking around with no clothes on? :p
