Wild Daisies

Here you gather to sway in the breeze
Magical beauties at ease
Gentle, peaceful
How do you do?

My good fortune happened coming this way
Most grateful I found you at play
Wondrous sweetness
So perfectly true

Right from the start
Chasing off blues
Sing to my heart
That's what you do

Your balance gives agreeable charm
Oblivious to hazards or harm
Facial colors
Do restore mine

Living here among your butterflies
Sleeping under star-dusty skies
Offers hopes
Made without words

Providing so much
So much from so few
Before I must go
How do you do?

I think there is a theme for this morning here. I had Glod pointing out to me that grass growing through concrete is beautiful (which it is) and now Harry's singing to the daisies..

I'm doing great, Indigo. Especially since this post went up fine the first time without having to fix it.

Wild Daisies are lovely. But then I like most weeds that grow by the side of the road, so what do I know?

I remember one summer I was in the city, homesick for country living. I couldn't remember the last time I saw wild flowers. I would walk in the farmer's market downtown and see daisies in the vendors stalls, all dyed pinks and purples, and I would fight the urge to cry.

Glad to oblige, Ken. I had brought a book along to read while my 11 yo son ran down to join with some other kids at a park mearby, and getting caught up in watching him and the others play helped to inspire this one.

Jay, we have a stretch of highway here where blue wildflowers bloom on both sides of the road, and their delicate blossoms appear for miles. Right after a certain turn, the colors of these daisy-like flowers begin changing gradually until they become a striking shade of pink. I get the same feeling when mowers come along and ruin it all.
