Happy Shoes
Once again a reminder arrives of the power of the net
Remember Hans, my adopted son? Well, he’d not done in yet
I sent a query to the other side of the marble from my cave
To a fine young chap in Kuala Lumpur; a fellow that I call Dave*
I asked that he don a detective’s cap; I supplied a list of clues
In two days time he answered me, and I just now got the news
It seems that Hans made press* back home (from a tough Aussie uni)
He aced his test in English there (the lad’s a bright stu-dee)
So now’s the time for all good men to come and celebrate
Enjoy the dish of Yee Sang heaped high on a family plate*
Or dress up in Chicago as we dance about this news
Excuse me now while I go to get my pair of happy shoes
